The Hawkes family came for their family shoot on the 11th April 2014. We managed to do a creative family shoot of four generations of the men, including Geraldine and Dylan’s new little addition to their family.

Valentine’s Day Competition Winners Couples Shoot 2014

In February this year 2014 we held a Valentine’s Day Competition on Facebook and we asked all our loving couples to email a picture of themselves with their partners to us. We then after Valentine’s Day, drew at random, from a hat for the winners. Zane and Wendy were our lucky winners and they had won themselves a free couples shoot in our studio 🙂

On the 28th March 2014 they came for their studio, however J.P. and myself along with Zane had a special surprise for Wendy that she had no idea about!! Along with Zane we came up with special ideas for their shoot and devised a plan for when that special moment would take place… Zanes wedding proposal to Wendy!!!

This was a first time experience for us here at JEAN PAUL PHOTOGRAPHY as we had never before had a wedding proposal in our studio, but we were delighted to be a part of their new chapter and were thrilled to capture the moment!!

Take a look at some of the photos captured on this special day, along with the ultimate proposal picture…

Make-up techniques by Gabriela Veaudry

On Thursday the 13th February 2014 I was fortunate enough to have Caroline Fowler from Simply Gorgeous training me on make-up techniques.

I had done previous lessons last year with another lady, but decided to do more training to gain more experience. I had seen Caroline’s excellent work through one of our clients which she does the make up for and when she offered to assist me I was very much appreciative.

Getting back to the 13th of February, we started at 10am and just went through various products, brushes and what works best. Make-up is definitely something I enjoy and learning new techniques is always exciting.

We started with a winged ‘cat eye’ look and then added to this look by making it more smokey by using blacks and browns. To see what we got up to have a look at the pictures for this make-up session and particular look.

It also always helps being teamed up with a very talented photographer, Jean Paul Veaudry.

I thank both of you for helping me capturing this look and I look forward to our next session on  6th March.

Shooting for Saprotex new catelogue.

On the 23rd (Thursday) and 24th (Friday) of January 2014 we had a load of fun shooting with Saprotex and capturing images for their new catalogue.

The weather really played it’s part and the locations were superb! We started off in the studio on the 23rd and then made our way to our secret location where there is a lovely looking mosaic wall which added texture and a little something different to the pictures taken.

On the 24th we had fun in a field where the long grass added to the pictures making them look soft and natural. We also went to the beach and used just the texture of the sand to create a unique background.

As you may notice the key theme for this shoot was textured backgrounds which created a subtle yet unique impact. It is really amazing how simple backgrounds can add to the creativity of an image.

Take a look at the awesome team which was a part of these two days of shooting. We have our awesome clients of Saprotex, as well as the talented make-up artist Caroline Fowler from Simply Gorgeous and then of course J.P. and myself from JEAN PAUL PHOTOGRAPHY.
